Global contract manufacturer Tessy Plastics Corp. has tapped company insider Stafford Frearson as its next president.

Frearson joined Tessy in 1997 after graduating from the UK’s North Devon Community College. During his education, Frearson worked as a part-time mold maker. Upon relocating to Syracuse, NY, he began learning more facets of the plastics industry and taking on more management responsibilities.

As president, Frearson will manage day-to-day operations at Tessy Plastics' 13 locations in New York, Pennsylvania, and Shanghai. Tessy specializes in injection molding and custom automated assembly solutions, with expertise ranging from product design and development to assembly of complex medical and consumer devices.

Roland Beck, son of Tessy co-founder Henry Beck, will transition from president to chief executive officer.

“Throughout my career I’ve been privileged to work alongside some of the most talented people in the injection molding industry,” Frearson said in a pepared statement. “Watching, listening, and learning alongside an amazing group of people has helped shape not only my career, but also me personally. I am excited for the next chapter in my career with Tessy and to continue building on the success of both Henry and Roland.”

Tessy, founded in 1973 and based in Skaneateles, NY, has grown to over $500 million in annual sales, the company said.

“I am excited to work beside Stafford to continue building on our success,” said owner Roland Beck. “I am confident that he will continue to lead the company toward the sustained growth we have had our first 50 years in business."

Prior to taking over as Tessy’s president, Frearson served as vice president of engineering since 2018, overseeing research and development and the tool room, engineering, automation, and IT. He also managed the acquisition of subsidiaries Tessy Automation and Tessy Tooling.
