New sealing option offered for R-PET blisters

PET recyclate (R-PET) sees increasing use in a vast array of packaging applications. The heatseal used to adhere the R-PET blister to a backing such as cardboard or paper must not only retain its seal over time but also remain transparent.

Benefits of this new material, reports Henkel, include not only its adhesion to R-PET blisters but also its ability to be applied via offset, flexographic and roll coating. The material is approved for indirect food contact under FDA regulation 175.105.

The supplier also offers Latiseal B7780AR for blister packs formed from virgin PET. This product is formulated for inline applications over wet inks. —Clare Goldsberry
